TYASA (The Youth and Amateur Sports Association) is a nonprofit organization created to support local community and township-based sports organizations.
We are not a league, and we do not govern youth sports.
Our goal is to help ensure coaches, parents, and organizations have access to better tools, clearer communication, and safer, more consistent experiences.
If you help lead or operate a youth sports organization, we recognize the time, effort, and responsibility involved. TYASA exists to listen first and understand the day-to-day realities you navigate.
Youth sports are powered by volunteers. We want to understand what supports you, what strains you, and how your experience can be strengthened.
Your perspective matters. Youth sports should feel safe, organized, and positive. We are listening to better understand how families experience participation.
TYASA is currently conducting a structured listening initiative to better understand:
Volunteer workload and sustainability
Communication clarity
Safety consistency
Administrative strain
Cost and access pressures
This phase is focused only on gathering insight.
It is not implementing structural programs, mandates, or governance changes.
Engagement begins with conversation, not commitment.
This project is not an evaluation of your league or governance model.
TYASA:
Does not operate teams or leagues
Does not replace existing organizations
Does not mandate participation
Does not exercise governmental authority
Participation in any TYASA activity is voluntary and opt-in.
Our work begins with listening and understanding.
Youth sports play an essential role in community life and youth development.
Many organizations operate with limited administrative capacity while managing:
Increasing administrative demands
Evolving safety expectations
Rising costs
Volunteer burnout
TYASA was created to better understand these realities before proposing solutions.
